Who We Work With

Learning ForTE supports organizations and individuals seeking to increase their capacity to offer formal and informal learning opportunities in hybrid and digital environments.

Seminaries & Theological Schools

Our original clients, seminaries and theological schools continue to be a significant portion of our portfolio.

In our experience, theological schools are best served by consultants who understand their particular hybrid environment- integrating and balancing the demands and best practices of ministry, higher education, and business. Learning ForTE’s decades of collective professional ministry experience enhances our ability to serve the unique needs of higher theological education by integrating that expertise with:

  • Teaching & learning
  • Traditional & digital course design
  • Faculty development
  • Human & technology systems design
  • Project & change management

Professional Development & Non-Traditional Ministry Preparation Programs

As theological education changes, Learning ForTE continues to work with more unaccredited schools of ministry that provide non-traditional ways for students to fulfill denominational ordination requirements. Learning ForTE helps integrate the most effective pedagogical elements of traditional seminary curriculums while simultaneously taking advantage of experimentation with alternative pedagogical models.

Individual Faculty & Educational Entrepreneurs

Learning ForTE helps instructors shift from merely teaching content to engaging students’ learning process as a whole. Stacy’s research experiences, as well as others scholarship in education, lead her to believe that pedagogical transformation is more likely when using an ongoing coaching model, rather than a workshop-only approach.

When working with instructors, Learning ForTE honors instructors as subject-matter experts, determining the student objectives, course content, and skills emphasis. Learning ForTE helps  instructors achieve their goals by exposing them to new technologies and teaching methods. Our job is to help faculty move the needle further, faster, and with less frustration.

Non-Profit Organizations

Learning ForTE helps non-profits effectively transition training programs and certificates into digital and hybrid offerings. To effectively serve these clients, Learning ForTE expanded its expertise to include effective voluntary educational course design to provide ongoing motivation to engage course content. Our ability to match organizational needs, participant learning context, and the most effective digital platform allows our clients more confidence in offerings.

Wholeheartedly Recommend

I can wholeheartedly recommend Stacy and her team at Learning Forte! From the start she listened to all our current educational technology struggles and synthesized a holistic research-based solution that took all our needs into consideration. She has a great ability to produce project narratives and presentations that can easily be absorbed by board members and end-users alike. Stacy and her colleagues bring a wealth of experience and passion for how theological education can best utilize and resource the myriad of educational technologies available.

Crucial Colleague and Wise Guide

The Rev. Dr. Stacy Williams-Duncan has been a crucial colleague and wise guide for the School for Formation. As we've developed and expanded the local formation pathways for the Episcopal Church in Minnesota, Stacy's pedagogical expertise and familiarity with the technological options has helped us navigate some tricky questions about delivering content, and more importantly, about helping us navigate the adaptive changes facing the church. She's one of the few leaders I know who is steeped in the Episcopal Church AND in the research about adult education and technology.

A Rare Combination

Stacy's wealth of experience and giftedness allowed us to map out a very complex project — including selection of a platform, hybrid curriculum design and measurable outcomes — in days, not months. Her work on our grant proposal was invaluable; whether or not we get the grant we will be working with Learning ForTE to implement the plan she helped us develop. Stacy is a rare combination of knowledgeable, precise and flexible which makes her a tremendous asset for theologically-based learning in a landscape radically changed by COVID-19.
